In January 2020, the Teach2Reach team presented at the Society for Social Work and Research Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. One presentation focused on an overview of the project and a second presentation shared results from the team’s national survey of sex trafficking education programs.

Project investigators Cindy Fraga Rizo, Sandy Martin, and Rebecca Macy shared findings from Teach2Reach at the Human Trafficking Commission in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 21, 2019.
Cindy Fraga Rizo presented findings from our surveys of NC superintendents and principals and focus groups with key stakeholders at the Society for Social Work Research conference in San Francisco, CA. You can view the conference abstract here.
Teach2Reach team members facilitated a session on working with schools to teach students about sex trafficking and respond to students in need at the Project No Rest conference “Awareness to Action: Proactively Confronting Human Trafficking in NC Communities” in New Bern, NC.
Dr. Rizo presented on a panel titled “Human Trafficking for School Personnel: Identification and Response, and Effective Implementation of SB 279” at the Human Trafficking Commission Symposium in New Bern on April 9, 2018.
LB Klein and Dr. Rizo presented on Enhancing Awareness of Human Trafficking in Schools to a group of educators attending the World View 2017 K-12 Global Education Symposium on October 26, 2017.
